Request for Proposal (RFP) for Financial Audit Services
ACE AFSCME Local 2250 is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced auditing firms to conduct a comprehensive financial audit for the fiscal year ending 2023. The purpose of this audit is to ensure transparency, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing the financial management of the union.
2. Scope of Work:
The selected auditing firm will be responsible for conducting a thorough examination of ACE AFSCME Local 2250’s financial records, transactions, and internal controls. The scope of work should include, but not be limited to:
a. Examination of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
b. Review of accounting policies and procedures.
c. Verification of the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
d. Assessment of internal controls and recommendations for improvements.
e. Compliance testing to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and union bylaws.
f. Examination of any special financial considerations or issues identified by the auditor.
3. Qualifications:
Qualified auditing firms should possess the following qualifications:
a. A minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting financial audits for labor unions or similar organizations.
b. Certification by a recognized accounting body (e.g., CPA).
c. Demonstrated expertise in auditing techniques, accounting principles, and relevant regulatory requirements.
d. Familiarity with the specific challenges and regulations related to union finances.
4. Proposal Submission:
Interested auditing firms should submit their proposals by March 14 to [email protected]. Proposals should include:
a. Company profile, including relevant experience in auditing labor unions.
b. Description of the proposed audit approach and methodology.
c. Proposed timeline for completing the audit.
d. Detailed breakdown of fees and expenses.
e. References from previous clients, especially those in the labor union sector.
5. Selection Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
a. Qualifications and experience of the auditing firm.
b. Proposed audit approach and methodology.
c. Cost of services.
d. References and past performance.
ACE AFSCME Local 2250 reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to negotiate with the selected auditing firm. The selected auditing firm will be required to sign a formal engagement letter outlining the terms and conditions of the audit.
